Did kramer make a bolt on neck explorer? This one has the bananna (slight tilt back)headstock 22 frets(rosewood).Neck looks old and worn and the logo fits in the USA 84 thru 85 catagory. The body is 2 hum with a TOM and stop tail piece. All the hardware is well worn so its had the shit played out of it.All the ones I see on the net have floyds or vintage trems. So did they ever make any with these specs?Even if its a mutt its a very cool guitar.BTW the body is alder and the neck looks like the older ESP made kramer necks.I'm guessing this to be a ESP made kramer.I don't have any pics so any of you kramer guys help me out here. Re: Kramer explorer?
Wasn't the condor model more like a pointy star?I used to have several kramers (USA)and never have seen an explorer body shaped one.I'm sure its a jap or korean built guitar but it is just cool as hell and I want it.The neck looks like an old baretta neck. Logo is no doubt an 84-85 usa but you know how logos find their way on import necks. No big deal really just trying to shed a little light on this piece.Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Re: Kramer explorer?
They made a real pointy looking star and a regular star, the Condor is like an explorer but just a little pointy. If it's exactly like a Gibson looking body then I would love to see pics and I don't believe it to be a Kramer body. Especially with that bridge setup.

Re: Kramer explorer?
You might try poking around on this site: Vintage Kramer
I haven't looked through it for an Explorer-style body, but there might have been one.Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

Re: Kramer explorer?
The bridge set up is what makes me think its something else entirely.Body is dead on a gibson explorer knob placement and rear routing just its a bolt on.The headstock is a bananna kind big like some barettas, slight tilt back maple with a rosewood board 22 fret. This is just a body and neck no hardware but the acoustic tone and sustain is very good.I'm thinking a super D or duncan distortion in this thing and an R&S pot kit and this guitar would kick some major ass.I think the neck is legit Kramer either ESP or Kramer USA just can't tell. The neck feels a lot like an 80s nightswan I had wide and flat.Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Re: Kramer explorer?
Could be a Warmoth Explorer body - they're great at duplicating bodies.
Could also be a Warmoth neck

Re: Kramer explorer?
I don't knbow if they used to do an Explorer but they do now. First time I saw one was at an Overkill show where their rhythm player had one with EMGs in there.
Have a look: http://www.musicyo.com/product_specs.asp?pf_id=498
seems they only have the lefty version in stock though.I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine. - Ayn Rand

Re: Kramer explorer?
Upon closer inspection this appeares to be a mutt.It was a 2 hum body like on music yo's web site the neck pocket has been opened into the front pickup routing and the neck used to be a 24 fret cut down to 22.Scale length is 25in.Intonation is right on the money. There is an explorer type pickguard cut for the bridge hum only. Not bad work whoever did it.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
