• Funny thing I found on Schecter's web site...

I was on Schecter's web site today, reading their FAQ, and came across something kind of humorous.

Go to their site's FAQ, at http://www.schecterguitars.com/Dfaq.htm and look at the last question.

I wasn't expecting that from an "official" corporate web site.

Kinda blunt but a cool answer.

It was just the bluntness that surprised me.

I hear a lot of goofy stuff like that from the kids I talk to at guitar shows.I had one guy tell me I was nuts when I told him ESP stood for electric sound products. He told me all real ESP guitars were made in FLA.He really flipped when I told him ESP made guitars for Kramer back in the 80s in Japan.

maybe they get a lot of e-mails asking if they are with ESP so they put that up.

Classic! They should use a larger font, though.

There are a number of guitar stores in my home town, one stocks Schecter's and another stocks ESPs and I'm sure that at some point someone in both stores has told me that imports from both firms are made in the same factory in the far east.

Perhaps it's bull but maybe someone else has heard the stroy and that's where the question comes from?

Or maybe they all say Samick on them somewhere?

I believe alot of the confusion regarding ESP and Schecter actually originates from Ed Roman. On his site he claims that ESP and Schecter are owned by the same company.
http://www.edromanguitars.com/rant/imports.htm

I think Schecter should sue his sorry behind if they´re in fact neither affiliated with ESP, nor owned by the same anonymous "asian conglomerate".

Strange. The ESP-employed moderator on the ESP forum says that Schecter and ESP are indeed owned by the same parent company.
