Re: ESP Lovers, need some info please

Great score Dave! I am surprised there wasn't a fight for that one. I was tempted to go for it too but I had my eye on another Firebird (THANKS BIG TIME KICKAXE! Not to steal the thread but Chuck hooked me up and that is awesome. I owe him big and hope I can return the favor sometime soon.) which I was able to land and should be here tomorrow. That will make 5 ESP Phoenix models to my collection. Now I just need a few with reverse headstocks and I am good to go! I really love the reverse with no inlay. Is the board ebony or rosewood on that slick machine?

That looks killer Dave! I almost forgot how cool it was. Make's me wonder why I passed it on. I'm glad it went to a good home and made you play more!

          Enjoy, Ray.

Re: ESP Lovers, need some info please

I learned a lot about ESPs in this thread. Cool, cool score Dave. I picked up an ESP M-I Custom a few weeks back for what seemed like a decent 500 bones. It has no serial number, ESP- Floyd-like trem, Jackson headstock, rectagular block MOP inlays, one at the top of the fingerboard for each marked fret, ESP in a block of MOP at the 12th, a single hum, Schaller pup like an EMG, and a really deep scallop at the bottom cutaway. It says Made in Japan on the back of the head. I'm really happy with how it plays and sounds. I think of it as a damned good copy of a single hum USA soloist.

Thanks so much again guys .

Chris, yes, it's ebony although not as dark as some I've seen. Very nice though

Chuck, yeah , I saw those on the bay and I especially thought about the reddish one, that one is sharp!

Brian, thanks for the number bro!!

Re: ESP Lovers, need some info please

Budman, I have the magenta red Horizon like kickax has posted one. Those Horizons are KILLER guitars. In fact I think it's the best sounding and playing guitar that I have. I was looking for pics of mine that I have online but I can't recall the addy lol. I post them as soon as I have found'em.

I like the reversed headstock on yours. Looks awesome.

Hey I got some morte info. Older 80's ESP catalogs show the woods used on the M series neckthru's were either alder or ash. Alder for the neckthru's. Ash for the bolt-ons. Cool.
