looks really great Dave, I am not really fond of modern ESPs, because of the ugly headstock (nothing beats a Jackson on that part), but those older ones, especially the reversesd are amazing... great axe

I have found it les painless to pull my own teeth out then to be able to find good accurate information on ESP. I have a Horizon from the 80's with no serial number, to say the least i am told on many guitars at first they did not serialize. Anyway I do love that guitar and wouldnt trade it for the world, good luck with yours.

Re: ESP Lovers, need some info please

I read this on another board. The post was by Ron Thorn, who has a pretty good reputation as a guitar builder and inlay specialist.

SD,

Up to two years ago, all the ESP USA Custom Shop guitars were built by a single man, John Gaudesi.
Without a doubt, one of the best guitar builders alive today. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I can only hope to learn a fraction of his building chops.
These USA ones will be incredible instruments, just ask the Metallica boys.
Search out an older used one, you can't go wrong.

Now, I can't comment on the newer Japan Custom Shops ~ sorry.

As far as the LTDs...right up there with the SEs, Diamond Series etc ~ same factory. I suggest playing it before buying it.

Thanks Harrald, it really is a great guitar. I've wanted one of these for awhile and just couldn't pass this one up.

Re: ESP Lovers, need some info please

$ of my phoenix models have no serials on them. 1 says Made IN JAPAN on the back of the HS. One has a serial Nubler stamped in the fretboard. #481.

ESP was wrong about the woods used too. It is Mahogany sides and Maple neckthru.

ESP sucks as far as getting info is concerned.

The older stuff really kilss the newer stuff IMO.

Killer pics guys. Great stuff for sure.

Do the majority of ESPs have a 1 5/8" nut width?

Most of the older ones did.
