Re: 7 Strings

[/ QUOTE ]I don't think that the Japanese Jackson 7-string neck is much, if any, thicker than the ESP or Schecter 7-strings, but probably more so than the Ibanez guitars. String spacing is almost always narrower on 7-strings, in order to keep the neck from getting too wide. I think the Carvins are the only 7-strings that have retained their regular string spacing. The narrow spacing does take time to get used to--and it certainly increases the accuracy of your fingering hand!!

Does the schecter blackjack 7 string feel the same as the jackson?? That guitar actually comes with real duncans...

      Re: 7 Strings

I haven't tried the Blackjack, so I can't say. My neckthru Schecter A-7 Elite has a thinner neck than my bolt on V-7 does, maybe that same analysis applies to the setneck Blackjack--I don't know.

        Re: 7 Strings

What about the fixed bridge Ibanez 7-strings? Anyone know anything about those? I'm looking to get one, either used from the US (7621 or 7421 then) or a new 7321. I lean towards the 7621, as it has DiMarzios already in it and is a Japanese guitar, but getting a guitar from the US is a slight/medium pain in the ass. You guys get way better deals than us Europeans on everyything, though, so it pays off most of the time.

I think the 7421 is also a Japanese guitar--it just doesn't have the DiMarzios in it, unlike the 7621. I've played a 7621--it was ok, but the one I played was not set up well, so it was difficult to give it a fair evaluation.

The 7321 was the Korean-made version.

Looks like I'll just get one with a trem and block it. The 7620s are dirt cheap and easier to obtain on ebay, considering there's DiMarzios in them and they're top of the line.
Looks like a nobrainer to me. Less than 500$ incl. shipping for a highend Ibanez vs. 500$ for a new Korean one. Even though I don't want another Floyd.

I have the Ibanez 7421 with fixed bridge, imported from Japan. Not a big ibanez fan though. However, only seven string I have so I better keep it.

Join the USA select seven string thread instead. Yup, let`s make it happen...
