Just let me know where it is and I'll let you know

Seriously, that sounds pretty good. They are pretty rare so it's kinda hard to come up with a price.

If you don't get it would you mind passing along the info?

Thanks,

Re: Hamer Phantom GT Glen Tipton Model

I do believe that is a good deal on a USA hamer, even if it wasn't the rare Phantom GT.
I have never seen one in person.
Is it black with a maple fretboard/block inlay? Sounds like a great deal.
Please get the info out on it, even if you aren't picking it up.

for the idiot who doesn;t know (me), is this GT the warrior looking thing he had in the new GW, or his inverted star model?

It's the one Glenn (on the right in this pic) is holding.

It has a rosewood fret board with dot inlays. I am going to stop by and snap a picture. I am not interested in the guitar, but I already told Txcharvel I would get the info for him. I will post a picture Monday night.

Thanks,

442w30- thanks bro. the new GW article talked about the GT and i didn;t know if it was that SG shape, or the warrior one in the article, or what.

thanks bro!

here's a better picture of a production Phantom GT

The Phantom A5 (as in Andy Summers of the Police) is my #1 guitar. So many different tones at the flip of a switch + i love the look. So 1982.

!

Hot damn, those are Nice , Jerry! that looks killer, man, wow. i originally thought the phantoms were offset SGs with longer cutaways, but this definitely puts it in a new light.

now, i want it too, darnit. haha. well, go get 'em txcharvel!

they are cool as heck. that stupid long upper horn is the bomb.

here's one more of GT's, taken this year.

DAMN jerry, I'm Really G.A.S.in' now! i thought the production Gt's didn;t have the 2nd humbucker though?

and what are the two plugged holes? like, what did they do before they were plugged? like a coil tap and something else?

Re: !

I believe the black guitar was actually an A5 that got converted to GT.. the mirror pickguard is not stock. GT's have a single hum and a single volume pot.

On the A5 model (the white one), the lower one is a two way switch that selects either the humbucker or the single coil inside the 'triple bucker'. the upper switch is a three way selecting between bridge and neck. I actually much prefer this method to the five way rotary switch they used on the reissues in the late nineties.

here's some more info.

As far as GT's guitar goes, I don't know if the neck pickup was a mod, but as you can tell by the fretboard, his guitar was not identical to the GT production model. Doubt the EMG's are original too.

Re: !

yeah, that Andy summers, the triple humbucker, i recognize that from the hamer prototype, yes/

and according to jol dantzig, yeah the GT's (or Tipton;s new one anyways) are supposed to have a special wound Seymour Duncan, but some of his other guitars have EMG's now too, which i find strange.

jerry, since you're the Man, and i love you long time, wanna hook me up with other info on priest guitars? haha. mainly kk's vector k.k. i can;t find anything on that, other than the general appearance. are his other v's custom? and totally different than the v k.k.?

dude, sign up on the hamerfanclub.com board.. you'll get a lot more info from real knowledgeable dudes.

the only thing that i know about the vector kk is that it's a full size vee w/ a hum and a kahler.. KK Downing used one with short horns and studs (which I think looks like ass). i think the one in the picture above with the priest logo headstock is a recent hamer custom. check out this month's guitar world, there's a feature on them.

there's a sweet KK on the bay right now:

lol, sorry jerry. i do appreciate all the help dude, and i'll certainly sign up on the hamerclub board. i've been gettoing more and more into them anyways.

yeah, i have the ozzfest issue. i heard that the red V was an ESP, though those split diamond inlays give it the air of a Gibson. but yeah, i'd watch the guitar feature they do on the judaspriest.com, but my realplayer is fuct up.

and i share your view on the studded shorthorn, haha. he's got an esp shorthorn too. but i love vee's so, i still like 'em enough, haha. thanks bro!
