Im in a band now and we experiment with a number of different tunings, and with my dinky that i have now, its quite a pain to unlock, tune, lock up, etc etc so I may have to part with it in search of a more versatile guitar. Im looking for something that has 24 frets, tremolo, non locking nut, locking tuners. The only idea i have now is the EBMM petrucci signature and a prs ce24. Anyone have any other ideas for me? Thanks guys

Re: Help finding a guitar
I agree with Yabba.
In the live situation, changing tuning, if the trem is floating,it will mess the tuning.
I had hard time when I had a guitar that had bridge floating adn unable to tune in minutes.
I would recommend you to go with non trem model for lower tunibngs and keep your Dinky for certain tuning like regular or E flat or D.

Buy more guitars. One for each tuning.

that's the best approach, if possible (or at least the most fun one )

Re: Help finding a guitar
I'm a spokesman for the one guitar per tuning thing as well, but I am also a spokesman for the Jemsite.com method of blocking a floating trem. Quick to install, quick to uninstall. It instantly turns your guitar into a hardtail, and it tunes like one too. Highly recommended.

Re: Help finding a guitar
Sounds like you need this killer new product Tekky and I saw at NAMM called the Tremol-No...turns your Floyd equipped axe into a full floating trem, a dive only trem, or a hard tail with a simple turn of a set screw...very cool! It won't be available til the winter though. He was gonna give me a proto to try out but didn't have a spare one since he only had 100 protos made by the machine shop and 85 of them were being tested by other guitarists But I tried...
