Has he actually played one of these? The reason I ask is that Epiphone turns out a lot of absolute crap. Sure, they make some decent stuff too and I don't know about this particular model but I know I'd want to have played one before I even paid the current bid of $240.
One thing is certain though, I would never pay more than about half of the current new selling price for any used Epiphone unless you're 100% sure it's a keeper.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.
Hey that's a nice sparkle Blue LP.
I wouldn't mind having one.
I have tried one of these at GC long time ago.
Not that bad.I even liked the stock pickups.
Like Tim said above, you have to be aware that Epiphone is known for an inconsistent product. I can't think of many other brands where even the loyal fans say, "Eppies rule! Just make sure to try every one in the store 'til you find a good one. Then put some good hardware on it, get some decent pickups and you're all set!" It's a gamble, but maybe there was better quality control on this model, since it was a limited edition. That is a nice case, though!
I almost bought one of these when they came out in 96, I wanted the silver sparkle one to match my Ludwigs. for an Epi they play decent. I'd replace the pick up's with some emgs. I'd go $250-$300 if I were you. I think Guitar Center was selling for $350-$400 back in the day.
