I just bought a Spector Bass....

It's a CRFM4 Czech made, dot inlays not the crowns, neck through in trans blue. I've been looking for a bass to use for recording for a while and came across this one. How do these compare to the USA models? Any info or opinions would be appreciated.

I have seen some of these and they look great.
I think hippietim has one in Trans Blue too.
I believe there is a message forum of Spector, if not, some website where you can check some information.

I am not a Bass player but I have been thinking of buying a Warwick Streamer which looks and should sound great too.

The Czech Spectors are generally considered to be high-quality instruments. They shifted production over to Korea, I believe, and the Czech basses command decent prices--at least they do around here.

I have used the same model to do some recording. I think is sounds fantastic. One of the best sounding basses I have ever used. Lots of punch and a tight low end.

Nice bass bro. Our old bass player had a 5 string that kicked major a$$. Very tight low end and really well made.

I love my Spector. I hated the EMGs in it though. I replaced them with Bartolini's and it's like a whole other intstrument now.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I played one just like this in GC a few months ago and I knew it was what I wanted, but they were asking like a grand for it. That way to much for a guitar player to shell out for a base for recording. I snagged this on off of eBay for 560. It's still more than I wanted to spend, but what the hell.
