• Dean Evo XM?

Anyone know about these or try one? http://www.deanguitars.com/evo_xm.htm
Musician's Friend is selling them for $99. A friend of mine wants to learn guitar, and I'm thinking of picking this up for her. I'm sure it probably could use new pots and pickups (I've got some laying around anyway). It seems like it might be a good beater guitar for the money, but how good really are these imports?

I played one. Really good built guitar. You dont see a lot of mahogany guitar at 100$... You can switch pickups for her... but this one is a begginer guitar...

Im sure she would be 100% pleased with it. The one I played had a nice neck and it is seriously one of the best begginer guitar available...

Do you have other options so we can talk about? Agile? Kramer?

Cool, thanks! Other options are open for a beginner guitar. Doesn't really matter the brand, just something within the $100- $200 range or so will work.

I think this Essex would be appealing to her too... I mean if you dont say how much you paid for it... she could think you bought her an awesome pricy guitar...

Yeah, that looks pretty neat. I did play a Rondo Explorer not too long ago that WarriorX7 on this board owned, and it wasn't bad at all. Rondo is here in NJ, so it's only like a half hour drive up north... I should go in there and check it out one day.
