Well, all someone had to do was search "Les Paul Studio" on Ebay to get it. The thing to do in an auction is log on for the last 5 minutes, and in the last few seconds bid the max you are really willing to pay. When you snipe, going $10 over the last guy's bid just gives him the chance to outbid you. Bid $50 over with 5 seconds left and he probably won't have time to outbid you if he's doing $10 bid increments.
$465 is a good price for that guitar - did it come with case? Anyway, if you end up getting a trans red like that, you can touch up the dings and dents with Minwax #225 Red Mahogany
touchup pens. They're only $3 compared to about $10 for the Gibson ones and are probably the same thing. They work for me and I have lots of trans red guitars.
Don't give up, just keep looking. That was a nice axe but you do see them on Ebay all the time, so just keep looking and you'll get another.
That was a good price.I bought an 83 studio recently a little less than that but lots rougher(which I like)with a set of hard to find Shaw zebra humbuckers.I got lucky because I found out the pickups are worth more than I paid for the guitar.
They are out there tho..the ones going for under 500 are usually mislisted with a bad ad description, off title or with poor photos.. but occasionally a snoozer does go through. I thought that one was in pretty good shape overall and a good price.
