I decided to put an 83 Pointy neck on my 1979 Schecter body I've owned for 15 years. I've had numerous necks on this over the years, but I never found "the" neck for it. This neck feels GREAT on it. The neck to body fit is perfect! I had GMW restore the body 2 years ago. The body is one-piece mahogany. I had Lee move the original upper bout toggle to the original tone control position, and cap the hole. I left the cavity/cover intact in case I want to put it back to stock. Pickups are Duncan "JB" & "59" w/coil split on the sgl. vol. control. Bridge is a Hipshot hardtail. Dan Lawrence shot the Sherwood Green Metallic paint. It's usually hit or miss when mating different bodies and necks, but this one came together real nice. The neck makes this guitar a whole different animal! 1 2 3

Re: Scharvecter? Old School Hybrid
All the "real" old school Schecter's had two buttons on the bottom. Not only gives you two strap positions, but makes a more stable "lean" when not in a stand. The old Lucite Dan Armstrongs had the same feature. Here's my 79 Burst Schecter also with twin buttons and my 79 Strat.

Re: Scharvecter? Old School Hybrid
What happened to the Hamiltone neck with the cool inlay that was on this guitar?
I really thought it looked good with that neck. (Although it looks good now too)
By the way........I thought the guitar (and that neck) sold on Ebay a while back......??????

Re: Scharvecter? Old School Hybrid
As I said, I had numerous necks on that guitar {green Schecter}. The guy that bid and won the green Schecter w/Hamiltone neck a while back, ended up just getting the neck {that's what he REALLY wanted to begin with}. It worked out great, as I had a history with that particular body and was able to keep it. Plus it cost me $600.00 at GMW for the restoration. The Hamiltone neck was very cool, but wasn't the right one for me.

Re: Scharvecter? Old School Hybrid
And Tom Anderson still uses the two bottom buttons to this today on his guitars.
By the way, nice-looking "Sharvecter". Attractive shade of green on the body.Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.
