I'm sorry but I would rather give my money to an American businessman no matter the upcost. Besides, their guitars seema bit on the ugly side to me, except for that silverburst Les Paul.

        How many builders will make you a high quality custom design for less than 2k? - most luthiers in Poland ,

          I thought our patent and copyright laws, were not enforced in other countries. Isn't that the case?

            Whoa! If that is true, I can make Jackson copies right here in Canada and nobody can do a thing about it.

              Among others - the most pricies custom was at about 8000 zlotys = 2000 usd - and that was the priciest luthier in Poland.

              Ran is rather average/low priced ... that's good , i've got to go over there and play some of their hi end stuff

              It's just the thing that living in Mid/Eastern Europe is a lot cheaper and the prices per an hour of work are much cheaper.

              There's a HUGE difference between this part of Europe and i.e. France - i've played a SUPERB custom baritone guitar , actually it was the best neck i've had played ever - it costs there 3500 euros so over 4000 USD i think.

              And AFAIK US patents apply only for USA - so i think selling it in US would/could(see ESP) be prohibited , but selling them TO US is not.

                Jees! They look really high quality! I might find out how much it will be for an SL2H or something.

                  That's a matter of opinion.

                  Check out the Harmony Central reviews, at least. Shamray are basically a bunch of amateurs. I really don't recommend anyone buying jack-squat from these guys, at least not for a few years, when the have some more experience under their belt.

                  I'll break it down from you, from what I've seen/read/experienced;

                  Specialty work, like carving, weird electronics; Very good.

                  Inlay: Improving, but still not that good.

                  Finish, nutwork, action: Eh. Finish is... OK, the rest is unspectacular for such an expensive instrument. (this varies, obviously)

                  Bulid quality: Well, it probably won't just fall apart on you.

                  Customer service: Pretty awful.

                  If anyone wants to take the plunge, by all means, go ahead. I'd rather spend a bit more, and get something from GMW, Neal Moser, Heatley Guitars, LGM, Warmoth, USACG, etc., etc.,.
