• Mayday Manufacturing / Sully Hardtails !!!!

Huge thanks and props to both Kevin Maynard and Sully ~

After seeing the prototypes for the brass hardtail bridge plates Kevin and Sully were working on - I got in touch with Kevin and started him working on a couple for me that will end up on two GMW bodies...to say the least I'm blown away at what ended up on my doorstep....it's rare to get 100% exactly what you order, down to the very last detail:

The machine work Kevin did on these is just out of this World - awesome, flawless...He's gearing up for saddles too, I've got some vintage keyholes I was going to use but after seeing these will probably hold out for more Mayday Paaaahts I was also going to have him channel the plate for the saddle height screws - but opted to go flat, no real need for that (he can do it if you want...)

I can't say enough about how cool the experience was - Sully was willing to have Kevin send me the first two with his (Sully's)logo on them when it appeared I needed them right then ~ I'm a hardtail fanatic, and can say that anybody who's into them will be nothing less than blown away by these...Kevin can make these with any spacing or spec you can imagine. The key word here is CUSTOM

Now all I want is a 'Mayday Manufacturing' shirt

Thanks Sully for the inspiration and Kevin for the grind. You've got a customer for life and I'll spread the word to anybody who will listen

I remember talking with Sully about building me a hardtail a year or so ago and we weren't sure about how to get bridges. He said then, "I may know a way..."

    Sly bastard!

Thats perfect! Congrats Mayday and Sully for a job well done.

yeah, i too was really impressed when i got the prototypes; kev does excellent work, to say the least. here's another pic (before i put the height screws and strings on):

chuck, i almost forgot about that!

gotta say that this guitar is incredibly resonant; more than it was with the old bridge that i had on there. they're also insanely comfortable as well.

Meh. I'll won't be impressed until Kev puts out a Floyd Rose bridge that's the size of a vintage trem.

j/k, guys! Nice looking work, and cool stuff.

those are saddles that i had from an old fender hardtail that i bought from lee. the spacing was wide on it, so i sent the saddles to kev, and he milled the sides down for me. those saddles are pretty hard to find; certainly more difficult than i had thought.

Yeah - the complete Mayday package will be the way to go...these are the Dimarzio spacing (narrow) vs. the really wide Fender...I've got one set of narrow Stars keyholes and one wide - I may send those to Kevin to be milled....

That bridge looks amazing. Any plans to do a vintage trem Kevin? The newer brass v-trems I've seen lately haven't been very impressive and the NOS ones are getting very hard to find.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.
