Forget Stratheads - now it's the Strat body shape....this info from someone who has experience in being hunted by Fender....

Apparently both Suhr and Tom Anderson recieved documents from FMIC Lawyers relating to the Strat body shape - they are fighting it...

How does this make you feel [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] We need a "giving the finger" smiley....Phuck those guys is what I say....50 years after the fact going after a product that was never patented???????????

Supposedly Fender is gearing up to go public.....hmmmmmmmm.

As far as my source - while neither confirming nor denying, lets just say that I got a guitar today from "the source" the beats the Holy Living **** out of anything FMIC has ever produced [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

I doubt seriously that FMIC expects everyone to stop making these shapes. I suspect the idea is to make everybody pay license fees for them.

Perhaps the defense will be that the "Strat" shape is sort of a natural body shape for the human body to use, for comfort and balance.

Yeah it's old news and a soap opera, but where does it stop? Like Chuckracer said - in the end there will be two guitar companies who own everything (FMIC and Gibson) and two retail outlets who own each other (GC & MF) and that unit will be trying to buy either FMIC or Gibson.

BTW - watch the seeds at the bottom of that popcorn - it will break teeth....is that buttered or just salted? [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I'm sure it doesn't help when John Suhr is quoted as saying "basically, I went with designs I had designed at the fender Custom Shop with improvements, which we call our Standard and bodies we call Classics which are based on the classic Fender designs."
