Larry, that was fukkin' funny as hell. And NO I didn't sign it and WON'T sign it. I could give a rats ass if PRS and all the others fell off the face of the earth tomorrow.

Would you be saying the same thing if FMIC had never bought Jackson / Charvel, and they were suing them to stop making the Strat, Soloist, and Dinky body styles? They're all derivatives of the original strat, after all. Not to mention Gibson suing J/C to stop making Y2KVs, roundhorn Vs, Explorers, etc. ...Ooops, FMIC already made them stop doing those. Re: Save the small guitar builder petition

I don't think they could have stopped Jackson from making the 7/8 size strat shape. I think there is enough difference in size to not confuse it with a real Fender Strat. As for the Gibson shapes, it would have been nice for Jackson to be able to make them, but I am not all out of joint about it. I have a few Gibsons and play them just as much as my Jacksons.

I can't speak for the others but I suspect that Don Grosh's body shapes and headstock profiles are different enough from Fender's to not be an issue - similar to how the Soloist is not an exact Stratocaster copy. But we shall see...

I signed it, but Stuka has the right to his opinion as well. I doubt this petition will do any good, but it lets us express ourselves at least.

They'd be fukking themselves, seeing that it would greatly increase the values of used Dinkys and Soloists. Say!!..............

one more, is there a # of signatures that has to be met to mean anything?

At the end, they will pick one # and the will giveaway a Fender Strat.

They can get 50 or 50,000 and it won't mean squat. Fender is going to try and protect their brand. No one stopped buying Fender when they enforced the Strat headstock TM in the early 80's. People aren't going to stop buying their stuff now if this succeeds. In the end the petition signers will get back to their bong, stop complaining about the man holding them down, and keep buying Fender products (since they will own most everything eventually).

Of course I could be completely wrong.

I'm with Larry. We can think it sucks all day long, but that doesn't affect Fenders legal stragies one iota.

I'm as much a supporter of the small builders as anyone and I didn't even read it.
