Re: Save the small guitar builder petition

I don't blame Anderson, Grosh, Lentz, Suhr, etc. from using the Strat and Tele shapes. It's what people want. If Fender hasn't actively protected their TM's they probably will (and should) lose. I can see both sides here and don't blame either for wanting to protect their interests. I'm not going to sign a petiton supporting Fender or the small builders since the details that will decide this aren't clear. It's all about money to everyone involved, not just big bad Fender. I'm happy to let the legal system do its thing in this case. Worst case, the small builders lose, are forced to come up with new designs, and there will undoubtedly be some cool new guitars. Lets see the innovation we keep hearing about. A great luthier can draw on classic design elements, have something unique, and maybe even improve on an original. Not every non-infringing design has to look like a Parker Fly. I'll take one of these over a LP, Tele, or Singlecut any day-

What the hell, signed it (as an owner of only small end guitars).
          I completely agree.

[/ QUOTE ]Hey, Fender can sue over the top horn (Tele) and Gibson can sue for the inlays, Les Paul cutaway and toggle switch placement! Everybody gets a piece of the little guy.The petition? Yeah, it's just a statement, not going to affect FMIC's actions. I just felt better signing and commenting why I disagree with what they're trying to do.This is America; I have the right to disagree and to say so publicly.
