I found a hardshell peavey bass case for $1. I had to cut down the inside to fit my short scale Fender, but hey, for $1....

This story still drives me nuts...

I missed out on buying a '62 Candy Apple Red Strat (w/Rosewood Board) for $150, 'cause I couldn't convince my mom to cut a check for it while we were standing there.

I was 13, so I didn't exactly have an independent funding source.

By the time I showed her enough info for her to believe what it was worth, someone else bought it.

Grr...

Check this out ! I got a Leslie 825 cabinet (215 watts) & the matching 400 Watt preamp pedal and cable for $30.00 ! I can't fail to mention that the band stencil on the rear of it reads "RUNAWAYS". Here's a pic among some of my other stuff ! Sick !

did not get it but missed out on the biggest fender find in my life
my home town:
old man owned the only music store around
the store closed down and he retired
after about 25-30 years he past away little did i know he had 3 vintage strats these strats were never played
1954 sunburst,a 1959 shoreline gold and a 1961 olympic white slab board all dead mint in the case never played with all the extras in the case
original strap,cord,booklet etc...
the widow sold it to a local rocker now get this all 3 for $1000.00 i about had a heart attack when my uncle told me this-i told him to get a hold of the guy and i would pay him $3000.00 for all 3
after a month my uncle calls me back and tell me the guy said no way-well i knew that was coming-but the sad fact was they had been modded with humbuckers and a floyd
i almost busted a blood vessel
man i would have loved to have those today
