  • Help IDing an Ibanez RG

Bought this Ibanez RG almost a year ago for 100 Canadian in a pawn shop and it's my practice guitar, would appreciate any info I could get on it.

    Serial # F9720185
    Made in Japan
    24 fret
    Dot inlays
    Licensed Floyd
H-S-H config (had a V7 in the neck, S1 in the middle and some Dimazzario in the bridge)

what does the tremolo say on it. Lo-TRS ii on the side? It's either a RG470 or an RG570.

Similar guitars but the 570 has the upgraded Edge tremolo.

Actually, it depends--the RG4xx series with the LO-TRS II bridge was also Japanese-made. It's definitely either a 470 or 570, depending on which trem it has.

Rosewood fretboard, rear routed and a Ibanez Edge tremelo. I changed the pick ups to Seymour Duncan, but I still have the stock pick ups.

                Anyway, here's the pics:

Re: Help IDing an Ibanez RG

Looks like a 99' 570. F9 could have meant 89' but that was ruled out because of the fat stripe in the back of the neck, no backplate and raised chrome logo!

It's the 20185 Guitar made in the Fuji Facory in 1997. Definitely an RG 570

Any Way, Nice score regardless of what it is exactly. The RG 470 and 570 are very nice geetarz. I gotta commend You on the pickup switch too, good idea!

Jacksonwolfe, I stand corrected. I forgot the newer ones went to 7 digits instead of 6! surely a 570, it appears to be the better trem.

What is 100 CAN in US dollars? You bought a RG570 for $77 US dollars? You're lucky to find an RG neck for $77 let alone the whole guitar. You scored big time! Last time I saw a guitar in a pawn shop for $100 even, it was a cheap beat-up POS Affinity Squier Bullet which was less than $100 new...
