i think that ESP he gotten was meant for Japanese market, as i've seen ESP having light colored rosewood fingerboard on models for the Japanese market.

Dinky, I have posted about this one a few times. My wife purchased this for me while I was in Saudi during desert storm. It was purchased at J and J music in san jose. I have contacted ESP several times about this guitar but they know nothing. If you loo at this one compared to others you'll also notice the color of the graphic is off. Also when you look real close at this one it appears to be painted, not the dot matrix silk screen that is on the others. One of the employees at ESP I spoke with said there were a few around 15 or so painted ESPs with this graphic but they don't know which ones because they have never really tracked serial numbers. I can not say for certain but this one may be one of those ESPs. Lynch himself has 3 of them.

Great looking graphic IMO.
I always wanted one with that graphic.
I used to try one of these at ESP shop and loved the fat neck with HUGE frets while most other ESP guitars had thin necks.

the neck on these are fatter for some reason. None of the other Lynch models I have owned had a neck like this one. This one is a keeper. Although I will admit when I picked up that 83 SD last year the ESP spends more time in its case now.
