• Ibanez V copy........

about a year ago i saw what appeared to be a copy of a Rhoads usa rr-1 in a guitar shop made by ibanez.it had sharkfins, duncans floyd rose binding like the real deal xcept for the ibz headstock.it's just something i remembered while on here and did a search and couldn't find anything like it the asking price was like $2,500 for that you could get the real thing in a custom finish just kinda curious if anyone ever saw one of these or did i just hallucinate the whole thing? Monster guitar, and it was fairly high-end new, but somebody was inhaling glue to be asking $2500. It's a rare one, but not that rare. I'd estimate $450-700, having only seen a couple f/s, but factoring in the current popularity of '80s MIJ guitars.

I had one of the bolt on versions. It wasn't bound, and just had dot inlays, but it was a great guitar. I think the only reason I got rid of it was because it was metallic pink.

Ah yes, the Ibanez Pro-Line Metallic Pink V. A good buddy of mine still has one, he bought it new around '86. They are cool guitars. His has the early incarnation of the Ibanez Edge Floyd Rose. I've seen them around as low as $250.

I could swear the one i saw had jackson type sharkfin inlays not the ibz sharktooth ones and a real floyd rose. maybe it was one someone customised or maybe my memory banks are failing me the thing was in cherry condition at the time i thought it was new thanks for the info.

I've seen the bolt-on version sell that low, but never the neck-through! I wish I could find one for that.

I owned a bolt on version. Damn fine guitars with AWSOME necks. Built like a tank, that finish was solid. Only complaint was that floyd copy was a POS.

The Pro Rock'R wasn't so much a floyd copy as it was a massive pain in the ass.

Serious. Other than that I loved the guitar. I even liked the stock Ibanez pickups.

Yeah, the bridge kinda sucked ass, but the rail type pickups were pretty good if I remember right.
