So I caved in a bought a 7 String.

Yep. I scored a Carvin DC 727 off eBay a few days ago. It's all black, ebony board, string through body, with Schaller locking tuners and EMG 707's.

Now if only I can do things right and NOT play nu-metal with it. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Nice! I'll be ordering a DC727 some day. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Got pics? Locking Sperzel tuners come on Carvins. Did the original owner swap out the Sperzels for locking Schallers? Seems kinda pointless since they do exactly the same thing.

I've been contemplating a 727 as well. I was even thinking about trading or selling my RG1527 for one (the thin neck is getting to me a little). I expect a full review with detailed pics.

I was lookin' at that 727 on eBay, as well. You got a good price on it with the EMGs and all, even if the finish is a little beat-up. I'm quite happy with my Ibanez 7620, however, so I'll probably hold off on any more 7-string purchases for awhile.

Let us know how the 727 works out. There doesn't seem to be much 'middle ground' opinion on them.
