Still don't understand why Glibson would change the bracing on their acoustics just because he wanted a 24-fret guitar that required (surprise, surprise) more.

just speculating -
the hole gets moved to accommodate more frets. the cutaway has to be changed to allow access to more frets.
Your typical bracing technique won't work.

Yeah I get that. But the inference is the extra bracing has somehow contributed to other Gibson acoustics...like Dave Mustaine is somehow an acoustic genius, which I don't buy.
