Damn that's a sexy guitar! I've always loved the look and feel of Deans (I've got a Dean V as my desktop) so Schenker's model will be enough to have me take the plunge and start buying Deans instead of my regular Carvin and Jackson fare.

I have searched all over the Dean site and this guitar has not been confirmed. Someone sent an email to Dean Z and all he said was that a guitar had been sent to Michael for evaluation.
I've wondered why Michael got rid of his number one guitars and after reading his comments on his personal site, seems a marital split went badly for the mad axeman. Welcome to the party Mikey!
it went Really badly. she took all his equipment and child, and his house burned down a bit after. and he lived in a crappy Phoenix hotel with no moeney, so he had to part with his the V's that was his signature.
That guitar looks incredible. I hope someone is able to put a Schenker V into production - Michael deserves it. He's a fussy dude though and it may be nearly impossible to get him to agree to anything. I know Hamer tried a long time ago, with no success and I'm sure many others have as well. If he lands somewhere and this becomes a reality - I'm in. Awesome looking guitar.

^ but people said that about Roope Latvala and Jackson, too. And he sports ESP now.

For how long?
Schenker has been using Gibson even before he joined UFO back in 70's.
His First Gibson was Les Paul and then switched to V which he got it from his brother I think.
i'm not sure, but he's had his RR since the early days of Stone (i think, can anyone shed light?).
yeah, the story from k.k. downing's really funny. how k.k. And michael both wanted the same V in a 2nd hand shop, and k.k. rushed to get the dough before michael.
that particular V's been in K.K.'s possession ever since. and i think michael got his V from Rudy after his girlfriend broke up with him (back in the 70's) and he left his LP in her apartment (<doh!).
and they say Page is pretty fussy too, but he likes his new Siggys, though. (even if they dropped the soap on his '95 signature, from Jimmy's point of view.)
That guitar rocks! I've been playing Deans
since the early 80's and love them.
My number one guitar now is an'81 Dean V and it is
the smokin'est guitar I've ever owned.
Haven't played the new Deans but hear they
are really good and most likely as good or better than
most current Gibsons CS guitars.
Michael S. would look great with that Dean, hope
he becomes an endorser.
I'm surprised that Gibson doesn't currently offer an official Michael Schenker Signature Flying V. I think he's got to be one of the most (if not the most visible) Flying V players. In this case, though, I hope that Dean can beat them to the punch. Given Gibson's lawsuit against PRS, I'm all for someone one-upping the bloated boys from Nashville.
For the Gibson, it is more easier to sell Lenny Kravitz V than Schenker V but the Custom shop did offer limited edition of Schenker V overseas.
Also John Sykes Les Paul as well.
So if there is a market, they will sell.
For I am surprised why There is no Randy Rhoads signature from Gibson.
They could make big money.

Here's the comment from the president of the Dean Owners of America:
As of yesterday, Michael Schenker is officially signed as an endorser of Dean Guitars. Dean is working on some publicity photos and hopefully we will have something by this weekend for the newsletter. Satch, Eric Johnson and Michael Schenker are the top three for me and this is the most exciting news I have heard in a long time. This is even better than Tone's new Vette!!! Can't wait for NAMM!!!
A couple other tidbits from the Dean Forum:
09/30/04 update No.3]
Michael Endorsing Dean Guitars (Cont'd): Elliot Rubinson with Dean Guitars in Fla. has kindly informed me that they just signed Michael Schenker to build Dean Michael Schenker models. This is Michael's first endorsement. Details will be posted in a few days at www.deanguitars.com. Thanks, Elliott!!
[09/30/04 update No.2]
Michael Endorsing Dean Guitars: As of September 29, Michael Schenker has signed the contract and is endorsing Dean Guitars. The black / white Dean V which appeared onstage (though not played) on the last few dates of the US tour is nothing more than a proto-type (still a beutiful piece). The forthcomimg limited edition USA made Michael Schenker Vs will have a different volume / tone knob configuration simular to his current guitars. The same with the more affordable Korean and Chinese models too (also forthcoming). Thanks for the info, Dixie!!!
So it's official now! That is amazing. I weould love to own one but I know it's going to be hella expensive, maybe if they do somrething in the $1000 range or an import version.
