What are your thoughts on guitars with an HSH configuration that only have a 2 point trem? Yay or nay? If yes why? If no why? I know it’s a matter of preference but I’d like to take this to the court of public opinion.

by two-point trem do you mean non-locking? because a floyd is technically a two point trem.
anyway I like the concept but have never owned that specific configuration since I prefer HSS. also stuff like the gotoh 510 seems to be fashionable these days.

Charvel thinks enough of the concept to have two options in their current lineup:
Charvel once again ups the ante for modern high performance combined with elegant style and crushing tone with the Pro-Mod DK24 HSH 2PT CM Mahogany, a stunning new instrument designed especially for a new breed of player whose musical vision and versatility knows no boundaries.

IMO
those trems are fine for Strats and Les Pauls. Maybe a PRS doing country or Jazz. A nice little vibrato effect.
But when I think of Jackson or Ibanez, I think dive bombing shredders.
And HSH... if a guitar comes with it, fine. But I wouldn't order one that way.

Thanks I was thinking of ideas for my next build and trying to save a bit of money while at the same time using high-quality parts. Found a good deal on a two point tremolo that’s non-locking but was exploring options. Just thought it would be cool to have an HSH body configuration but wasn’t sure if people would actually want one with the two point or a full Floyd.
