These are clearer. I put the first 2 coats of primer on the back of the neck. I tried to match the old worn primer that is showing on the body. Once I find the correct shade of faded yellowed white I will spray it on and then distress and age it to match the rest of the body. The old blotchy primer showing through should look pretty close to what the body looks like on the back. I also straightened out the pickups so they are all uniform in apearance.

Re: New LPC pics..
I was looking at that exact brass nut. I should pick one up. I removed the primer that I sprayed on from the neck. I was getting ready to paint it and while I was playing it I realized I liked the way the neck felt "au-natural" with just some tung oil. It is never going to be a museum piece anyway. Next step is to install some straplocks. Those little factory brass strap buttons are never going to work out for me live. That is probably how the headstock got cracked in the first place.

Just make sure the strap lock screws are in tight. I used to do the Yngwie around the neck guitar spin thing until a screw came out of the body and the guitar slid (face down) across the stage. So I run over to it, pick it up, and play it kneeling down while one of our rodies put match sticks in the screw whole and screwed it back in. All while I was still playing. It took me a long time to try that again. Now, it's just funny.

Re: New LPC pics..
I dropped a 68 SG face down while opening up for Twisted Sister at The Rising Sun in Yonkers, NY. The strap popped off the little upper strap button and the guitar crashed to the ground and the head stock split right down the middle. On a positive note though.. the crowd stopped booing and yelling Twisted..Twisted..Twisted.. (we opened for them for 1 year and their fans were nuts) and laughed instead. I still picked up a totally hot piece of a$$ after the set though so F--em.

Re: New LPC pics..
Speaking of openers, My old band opened for Yngwie about 5 or 6 times. Anyways, one of those times while my band was playing, my buddy Ray (manyaxes) is giving us beers. We thought he was going to the bar for us, but he was going to Yngwie's dressing room and giving us Yngwie's beers. The band, crew, friends, everyone. By the time Yngwie came out of the bus (being the rock star that he is) he had mabey 2 or 3 beers left in the fridge. I thought it was funny. He was a dickhead at soundcheck anyways. Still, he was my highschool guitar hero. (sorry it has nothing to do with breaking a guitar) BTW, I too scored a hot piece of "a" double dollar signs as well. It's good to be in a band!
