Actually - you know what? Hippietim's burst he just scored might be my favorite one I've ever seen...just love that color, kind of a tangerine burst (at least on my monitor).

This one of mine is pretty cool for a reissue - a plain top at that....Historic 1960 Les Paul :

Back in 1979, I was working in downtown Shreveport. I went to lunch with my father and one of his friends. After lunch, their routine included a quick peek through the corner pawn shop. At that time, I didn't know a Les Paul from Pope Paul, but my dad's friend sure did. To make a long story short, he offered the dealer less than $700 cash and walked away with an original late 1950's LP Standard.

Two years ago, one of my employees informed me of an estate sale in a small little rural community. When I arrived, I inquired about the acoustic guitar for sale. The woman brought out a a battered but still workable case containing a Martin guitar. It had a few issues including some loose binding, but nothing drastic. I only had about $300 on me and she wanted nothing but cash. I told her that I'd drive into town and find an ATM and be right back. When I returned, her daughter informed me that she had sold the guitar for $900. About 3 months later, I was told that the owner of a local music store was the buyer and that it was a pre-WWII model. Finding stuff like that is getting harder and harder, but it can still happen.
