That HAS to be one of the nicest guitars I have seen in a while. Athough the body shape is not unique, the inlays, figuring, sound hole, etc, etc = fukking killer!

Wow, that's beautiful! Even the pickup rings are birdseye. Nice inlays and color too. The neck is absolutely awesome!
Congratulations, very nice guitar!

This is going to sound silly, coming from a guy with quite a few fancy guitars, and this Thorn is gorgeous, but when is something just too pretty to play? I mean visual wise, this Thorn is gorgeous, and I am sure that the low tolerances make it a dream to play..

I just find myself sometimes looking at my collection, and end up playing the ugliest (relative, mind you) duckling of the bunch.

[/ QUOTE ] Shawn, I think you and I share the same problem. I have a small collection of really nice Jackson and Gibson USA's. But find myself picking up the Samick alot of the time, not only because it plays and sounds great, but because I don't have to worry about it.

I don't play any of my "pretty" guitars. That Thorn is beautiful. It reminds me a little of a GMW Empire.

I lurk at the Thorn forum a lot to see the remarkable craftsmanship. His work is top notch, but I don't care for the shape of the guitar. But the fit and finish is stunning. I know Thorn is a busy guy and has a huge waiting list. I've spoken with him on the phone about inlay work and he's a pretty nice guy.

When I pick up a guitar, I am still picking up a U.S. something or other. I guess I am just saying that I find myself gravitating towards the more plain , (but still top notch) guitars.

[/ QUOTE ] I must've misunderstood your post. The point I was making is that the Samick LPC is just as much fun and plays as well as my Gibson LPC, plus I don't have to worry about it at gigs and such.
