Re: Wayne NEWS...hes done
It's hard to feel bad for Wayne with all the crap associated with these guitars. With his experience he should have had a better grip on what was leaving his facility...especially since he credits all set-ups to himself. Don't even get me started on Michael authenticating Charvels -
Any thoughts on where Wayne will show up this time?Tarbaby Fraser.

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.

Re: Wayne NEWS...hes done
I'm by no means a Wayne fan or defending them, but that dealer may just be talking s**t. Have them define "no more", because that could really only mean that GA may no longer be a Wayne dealer, and Wayne is fulling his final GA orders before ending their relationship. I've also heard rumors about Wayne changing to sell direct to customers, like Carvin. If that's the case, they'd drop all of their dealers. I suppose it could be true. ...But I would take all of this with a grain of salt for now, that's all.

Re: Wayne NEWS...hes done
I think Wayne is like the living dead. He roams around the industry making incoherent noises, and like a zombie, his reputation and league of followers insures that more and more sequels will come out, but to the rest of us, we are still waiting for any evidence of his actual existance. Im sure he has made alot of kick ass guitars, but he has the worst timing and will probobly surface at some company with a new guitar which no one will want. I hope one day he gets successful though. It would be nice to see the guy finally do something that not only kicks ass, but that actually sells...............

Re: Wayne NEWS...hes done
Jim, will he make you a body with a standard pocket. I asked them to build me a body with a 2 3/16" pocket & was told we will ONLY MAKE 2 1/4" pocket. & i dont think they would sell very good dirrect. most people who know about them know they are inconsistent, so they would like to play the guitar before they buy. its not like carvin thats had DECADES of quality equiptment, & customer service, unlike Waynes. i took offense to being told "how come Oz Fox & warren & others dont have these problems with thier guitars, maybe you dont know how to care for a quality instrument." I actually laughed when he told me that.

Re: Wayne NEWS...hes done
Maybe he decided to put a little more time into their guitars so he'd get good word-of-mouth from them? That's a no-brainer.
Sorry to hear he treated you that way. Hae to hear his company's folding but it's sadly been the story of his life, hasn't it?Ron is the MAN!!!!

Re: Wayne NEWS...hes done
Here is what Mike said.
Hello Jim, your looking at
225.00 for the body
Flame maple top add 85.00
Mahogany back add 20.00
Binding add 160.00 if you liv ein CA add 7.25% sale tax shipping would be about 10-15
we would need a 50% deposit to get started on the body and I would need to know if you neck heel is 2 3/16" or 2 1/4"
If you have any further questions feel free to call me thank you Michael Charvel

Re: Wayne NEWS...hes done
I had a chance to play several of his guitars back when they were first coming out, and I REALLY dug them (esp. the blood drip DeMartini model, damn). Always wanted a chance to own one, but the dealer here that had them went out of business. From my experience it'd be a shame if this rumor was true.
