Could someone give a brief rundown of these companies? i.e. when they started, who is behind them, etc.? Everyone raves about these guitars on here. Thanks

Re: GMW, GMP, etc.
GMW: Lee Garver, Neal Moser, Dan "Wizard" Lawrence. Neal cuts the bone nuts and does a lot of the fret work. Dan does the finishes. Lee is the main builder and the usual point of contact. They make killer guitars and do great restoration and refinish work and will pretty much build you anything. Their prices are very reasonable for a top notch job.

Re: GMW, GMP, etc.
RE:GMW - I will add this - Lee & co.'s claim to fame is the ability to make a '82-86' "San Dimas" Charvel style guitar exactly to your specs for those of us too poor, too young or too stupid to order one back in the day. And yes, they are that good (have one and another on order "I''ll say what I'm gonna say, cuz I'm going to Hell anyway!"

Re: GMW, GMP, etc.
GMP is owned by a gentleman by the name of Dave Pearson, and if you call or email the GMP factory, that's likely who you'll be talking to.
I don't know a whole lot about their history, but word around the campfire is that some of the people there were at the Glendora Charvel shop. GMP is on Arrow highway, right across a freeway from Glendora in San Dimas.
I can tell you the two I had and one I have are wonderful guitars. The neck shape on my white Pawnshop is almost identical to my last 21 fret strathead Charvel neck.
The quality and workmanship on these guitars is amazing, and the attention to detail off the charts.
