Re: The ESP Eclipse (Les Paul style) thread!!!

Maybe I'm blind, but I cannot see an ESP-related page on DrumCityGuitarLand's website. Anyone want to link me, please?

Man, lots of cool guitars on that page. Thanks for the link! Unfortunately they don't have any of the Eclipse II Standards with the four controls. Oh well.

You're welcome. For finding it for you, buy me one of the Custom Shop Jake models... either the green metallic or natural mahogany will do.

I can't even afford a damn Eclipse, let alone any other guitar...

I just tried out an LTD EC-something Deluxe today. Mother of god that's a nice guitar. The ESP version must destroy. They also had the same goldtop P-90 one as yours with the insane potbelly contour on the back. I didn't get a chance to try that one though.

Time to start saving up again...

I can't really afford crap at the moment either. My Eclipse might be up for sale real soon (cheap) due to a financial/bankruptcy problem, as well as the JJP (Jimmy B. has first dibs on that one and I'm waiting to hear back from him). Man, I need to hit the lottery!!

Uh oh... don't tell Travis or else he'll dive into your Hamer!

Sorry about the situation bro. We could all benefit from lotto winnings.

To raise money, you can start a website for your moobs. People will pay big money to see stuff like that!

Now there's an idea! Mrs. LPC will gladly pay to see them! I've been thinking about the Hamer, also, as I haven't played it much lately (though, I did play it for about a half hour yesterday). I'd just rip the EMGs out and Travis will have to get new pots, jack and pups. I'm still not sure I want to part with it right at this moment yet. Must... try... to... hold... on... a... little... longer!

Re: The ESP Eclipse (Les Paul style) thread!!!

Don't sell your ESP... your moobs must fit perfectly in the belly cut if you wear your guitar high.

How do your moobs always appear in our conversations?

Anyways, I found that LTD I was playing today:

http://espguitars.com/ltd_deluxe.htm

Upper fret access wasn't that great but the guitar played UNREAL. The neck was slightly fatter than my Soloist and comfy as I am starting to really dig thicker necks lately. The short scale and extra-jumbo frets made it feel like I was playing elastic bands... I was flying all over the fretboard! The guitar also balanced nicely on my lap and it wasn't very heavy at all, perhaps just a little bit heavier than my Soloist but nowhere near as heavy as a goldtop Epiphone Les Paul I also noodled on today. I hated the knobs sunk into the body because there was less to grip in order to quickly flick the knobs from zero to ten. But man, the abalone everywhere was gorgeous, the rosewood board was slick and fast and beautiful, the slight neck angle was comfy like my non-recessed Soloist, and I love gloss black! I forget the price of this particular guitar... But it seemed like a LOT of guitar for a Korean model! I didn't get to plug it in so I don't know how the EMG-81s sounded in it. I just want to play the ESP Standard version now!!!

I also tried out my first Wolfgang today too. The asymmetrical neck backshape was very cool and easy to adapt to, and I found it gently eased my thumb further towards the treble strings to facilitate soloing! I kind of liked it!

Lots of good pics of a number of models of ESP IRL here (Eclipses, including the JH-3 which deserves a mention) here

Man. Lots of great looking guitars there. I will admit that although I don't like trans finishes, ESP does pick some absolutely stunning flame/quilt tops. This one is just to die for:

I noticed white binding instead of the gold/yellow binding I want on mine (pictured way above in this thread) but really the white looks incredible too. Thanks for the link!!!

Very nice.
You should order a Koa Les Paul with White bindings now.

Yea! you really should.
It will be way cool to have a Koa Acoustic and a Koa Electric.
So you can get rid of your Shannon after all...

Like the original Eclipse I CTM released early in 2004 in limited quantities outside the US

They were deleted for the aged ones, the VTB, and they have been around since about August outside the US. The store from those two sites I linked to have a lot of models that they get first outside Japan. Export series they basically get the first in the world, but a lot aren't allowed in the US
