just got off the hook with mr Lee Garver, he said he cannot take my order until 2005 as they are in a back-order situation and need to catch up. He also said that when the 12 new GMW guitars (empire models?) are revealed, the new headstock(s) will be publicly available.

Anybody know how to grease G.A.S. impatience? [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I am sure Lee was talking about new GMW guitars, not Empire guitars.

Lee will release the new GMWs when he has 12 made. They will be serialized and logo'd. These are GMW guitars...not the Empire line.

They will be very cool examples of GMW's great work. If you have ever played a GMW....you know what to expect. The only difference will be a different headstock. The neck radius and profiles remain the same.

Lee will still be making these guitars old school....just with a different headstock.

I am definitely going to own one of the new ones.

I had presumed that he might do that at the next NAMM show but he explained that GMW doesn't attend NAMM due to the fact they sell guitars directly and not through dealers. he also mentioned very expensive booths, and that he basically needs to dedicate all his time to finish building guitars on order and not showing them off [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
and yes they are GMW models not empire...can't wait to check em out!

Well, I am not so sorry to say it, but it is good to hear that Lee is not taking anything new - considering I am one of though waiting for a backorder [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]!!!!

I just placed an order today on a very cool idea I had for awhile...stay tuned. I think the wait is gonna kill me but I look forward to adding another GMW to my stable. I been playing my RR V (GMW017) nonstop for days now (got her last Wed) and was so floored I called Lee and we talked about an idea I had for awhile.

Lee does awesome work and I for one am very happy to see him logo and serialized his stuff.

Mine should be here before Christmas - fingers crossed! Lee is apparently trying to clear the bulk of existing orders ASAP so he can concentrate on new builds around the new headstocks.....
