WOW!
The pickups alone would cost the bid amount.
Great deal!
No Birdseye Maple this time?

Re: my fave mutt

This is my Explorer mutt.

Got the neck and plate(Charvel SD) from Jim Shine. Came with a Charvel Body too but it needed wood work and I sold that to Chuck Valentine. I bought this body as a whole guitar from Sid Slack. Came with a SD charvel case and a Chrome floyd/ the pickups and electronics and a Strathead neck.... I am sure a few of you remember it???? Came from Neals Music I believe. Anyway. Body: I believe it is either SD Charvel or a SD Charvel made for Dimarzio/ Or a Jackson Ontario or San Dimas body... Don't know but that is what the experts have told me so... It originally came from Sid Slack with a strathead neck but it did not fit the pocket right so I swapped it for a neck that was correct. This guitar plays friggin fantastic! it sounds very nice too. Original duncan pickups that are time period correct as well (non-trem spaced). The Body ws routed to have the floyd recessed but was always a floyd guitar and NOT a vintage trem. It also has the aluminum back plates and the control cavity is done in copper. Cool? I love this one!

So Chris, how many Explorers do you own now?
You will need to change your ID with Explorer V.

Re: my fave mutt

At one time I had many! Like 9 or something at one time. I had more Explorers than Firebirds. Now I have 9 Firebirds. 3 Explorers. I have always loved Explorers and Firebirds. Those body shapes just feel so comfortable to me.

Re: my fave mutt

5 of my F-Birds are ESp's... Most don't like them around these parts so... Then I have one that is hand-made and I haven't a clue who the maker is. I own the 1'st Lentz Firebird ever made. 1 of 11 or 12... Can't remember the exact total. - That is 8. I had 9. Forgot I sold one. I will take a pic of some of them if you want to see it. I will send them to you though. Whenever I posted them in the past I get flamed for them being ESP... Oh sorry.... ESPEE. lol. Say what you want about them. They are built extremely well and rival my USA Jacksons easily. I am not talking about the new ESP models. I am talking about when ESP was trying to grab the Jackson marketshare and built them with Jackson "knockoff" headstocks.

Here is an old pic some of my collection: Some have been sold and there are a bunch of new ones that I haven't ever uploaded...

Enjoy.

Re: my fave mutt

80' ESP were great.
Plus these used Firebirds are much cheaper than Jackson ones..well only if you can find one.
Post them here.. why not!
You love them so who cares even if some people don't.

Old pic. The Jackson one is not in bought this pic and I have another ESp in Green with full hums that is not pictured either. The ESP's are worth a pretty good buck now. Not comapared to a Jackson Firebird but still will bring in $600 - $1000 depending on condition and config.
