• Any experience with TKL/MusicYo guitar cases?

Okay, so this isn't quite about Guitars By Other Manufacturers, but I am considering a certain hardshell case to go with a Kramer guitar. So, I put the topic here. If it is in the wrong section, the admins are free to move it as they see fit.

I am thinking of purchasing one of these TKL Pro-Form-II Electric Guitar Cases from www.musicyo.com:

Anybody have experience with this case model in particular? My only experience with cases are with the Jackson-logoed molded SKB cases which I know are great quality and Taylor molded archtop pink poodle acoustic guitar cases which are also incredible. This TKL doesn't look like it has full neck and body support like the molded cases I have had experience with. But will it do?

    Jackson-logoed SKB case:

    TKL case in question:

I specifically want to order a Kramer Custom (Les Paul style), and want to consider a hardshell case to go with it to protect it while in transit to the chilling Canadian winter. The case dimensions are listed on MusicYo's site but I am not sure if that case will accommodate that guitar since I am unsure of its dimensions. Anyone want to chime in? I assume it is quite similar in size to this stype of ESP/LTD Eclipse:

Any help you can provide me would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!!

I'm not sure if it will fit properly or not. I noticed that a gig bag is suggested for that guitar on its spec page.
I would email them at this customer service link to find out for sure. http://www.musicyo.com/service.asp

    Good luck,
    Chris

I have 3 of them for my MusicYo Barettas, and although it's not a custom fit, I've banged the cases around plenty going to gigs and such, and have never had any guitar damage.

Cases like that are not recommended for tilt back headstock, set neck guitars! The guitar can slide around inside the case, and the headstock can touch the inside of the case edge. If you or some baggage handler drops that case on the headstock end - even just lightly - the guitar will shift in the case, and all it's weight will drop on the headstock and snap! you're SOL. Get a proper LP-style case for an LP-style guitar - they support the body so the headstock won't receive any blows...

Alrighty, I've received a reply from the MusicYo customer service. They say they do not have a case that will fit the Kramer Custom, so I guess I will have to go with the gigbag and pray that it arrives safely. I'll have to read their return policy before buying just for peace of mind. Once I get the guitar, I will ditch the gigbag and will be buying a proper Les Paul style case.

          Thanks gents!
