  • GMP Bullseye Roxie...Now Mine (Mwah-ha-ha!!!!)

GMP Number Three now in the Crankdaddy house:

A custom shop Roxie Deluxe with bullseye graphic!

You may remember this one popping up on ebay a couple months ago. Well, last week, a dude on the Dean forum put it up for sale. I made puppy eyes at the wife and she said, "Looks cool. Get it!" So I did!

Arrived today and holy shite, this thing smokes. First of all, the guy I got it from switched the EMGs it came with to a couple Duncans...a Pearly Gates and a Custom 5. Not sure if I'll switch 'em back...they sound killer. Then again, I don't have any guitars with EMGs, so maybe I will.

Either way, I'm one happy camper. I've been playing this for hours and only stopped now cause my wife wants the house quiet for awhile. This is my only GMP with an ebony fingerboard, and it's very, very nice. The abalone inlays jump right off it.

The size is perfect for me too. Chuckracer once told me that the Roxie is a "big man's guitar," and he was right. As a big man, I make Les Pauls look like those little Epiphone Pee Wee things. This one doesn't look like a toy on me.

The finish is spectacular, but then again, what do you expect? It's a GMP. I also think the neck is a little thinner than my Shelby Firebird. I'll contact GMP tomorrow and see if they can give me some details about the custom order. (By the way, the guitar in its original EMG'd state is on their website.)

I'm stoked I scored this guitar. It looks as badass as my other GMPs, and it sounds and plays killer. Any of you guys who haven't joined the GMP cult yet, I suggest you check one out soon. You'll be blown away.

Thanks for lettin' me share the love, bruthas!

Here's a full shot. Looks kinda outta perspective, as it's leaning forward out of the case.

Here it is in it's original EMG'd form, off the GMP site.

So what do y'all think: Keep as is? Or switch back to the EMG 60 and 81?

I would put it back to original specs with the EMGs.
