  • opinions on Dean Vs

I've got this major V GAS going right now. I'm going to go play a Hamer Vector today, but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the Dean Vs: playability, sound, comparability to the Vector, Y2KV, Flying V and any other round horn Vs.

    Thanks

Travis, the Dean V's are excellent guitars with just a killer neck profile. The one I owned had a "V" profile to the neck, with a shape similar to a Gibson 60's neck. It was fast and ultra cozy - very cool guitars.

I haven't played any other brand, so I can't help you with a comparison.

However, I do have a Dean Time Capsule USA V. It is without a doubt the finest quality guitar I've owned aside from my GMPs. The rolled over binding on the ebony neck makes it feel smooth as silk when playing. Also, the V shape of the neck is very, very cool. Different, but cool. The finish is absolutely flawless.

The sound is pure aggression. Very bright.

A lot of people hate the Dean headstock, but I think it looks exceptionally cool on a V. It makes the whole guitar look longer, leaner, even meaner. It actually kind of "balances" the look of the guitar, in my opinion.

I also had an imported Dean 79 series Z. The playability and finish on that one was off the hook as well...amazing for an import. I imagine the 79 series V would be just as good.

Go play a Dean. You won't regret it.

I love em personally. The neck profile is killer and the guitars are awsome
