• My cool Mr. Bones Project Guitar

Just finished up my latest project...

I never knew how much fun it was to build, work on my own guitars. I always had my tech do it in CA and Chuck here in MA...but I gotta admit I am proud. Sure, I made mistakes (cause I am impatient)...for example placing the string retaining tree too far out, had to shim the neck like 20 times before getting it right, got dust in my spray paint job etc...but it was fun...and turned out cool IMO!!

I bought the body from Michael out in KY (he gave me a ton of progress shots...he is one talented mother) and a neck from warmoth which I spray painted the face (only) black, added a lock nut (first time using a drill, lol), string tree (**** that part up 3 times so there are a lot of extra small holes on the face..lol). I then went to a craft store and bought 3 different types of stickers and some dye (all the stickers were way too white). Added "Mr. Bones" (was going to have "**** Death" on the headtsock but figured that was too PC incorrect) in white'ish letters and I also added "RIP" in bold-reddish letters...I like it.

Fun project and all said and done it ran me about $1800. Sounds great old Duncan Distortion in her with 500k pot.

What ya think?... The body is unbelieveable very, very intricate carving and airbrushing!!

    Cheers

<font color="aqua">Well done trace, it really is a great feeling you get when doing the jobe yourself. The guy that did that body has a great talent there.

      Congrats- </font>

That's probably the best copy of that axe I have ever seen. The body carving looks great. Blows the ESP copies away in my opinion. George's axe was a project axe also so I'd take this axe over Ed Roman's over priced ones any day of the week. Great job Tracy. Now don't you need to sell your rev head blood drip Charvel to make room for it? lol

                      OMG!
That is the best replica I have ever seen.
I was just reading the 2005 buyers guide today at newsstand and saw J.Frogg's guitar and thought it looked weird.
It didn't even look like what he used to build.

Anyway, I love it and it is my favorite Lynch guitar for sure!!!!!!
