Fender Strat..........

Hey guys,I got a trade working on some stuff and part of the deal is a Strat with an OFR,S/S/H MIJ # L034407.What exactly is it? Small headstock,skunk stripe and the fingerboard is ebony.Thought some of you Fender guys might be able to help. Thanks Rev. Timmy..............

There's an HRR 60's version of the strat in that link, same thing but with Rosewood fingerboard.

Does your's have the pickguard and look like the guitar in the link? Also, I've never seen a Fender out of Japan with Ebony...it's probably rosewood.. (PS if it really is Ebony, I'd probably buy it from you if you're selling). Can you get any pics?

Thats it! The one I am looking at is black and does'nt have a fancy pickguard, just a plain white one.The hum has been replaced with a Dimarzio,not sure which one.The neck looked and felt like ebony to me,but I will see it again tonight and put it under further scruitiny.Seems to be a pretty nice guitar...............Thanks guys Rev.Timmy

If it is a HRR Strat you are looking at, then the Dimarzio is stock. An HS3 to be exact.

If it's a got a recessed Floyd, contoured heel, it's an HRR strat. two Jap singles and a Dimarzio Super 3 hum.

I had one of those, they're nice guitars. The fretboard is flatter than the normal strat too, somewhere in the 12-16 inch range. They're basswood, so they're pretty damn light too. I'd like to find another someday.

One other cool feature IMHO, is that the volume knob is a push/pull pot, to split the Bridge Humbucker.

I used to have an American one. 2 hums OFR.

That's really nice Kmanick. I have Corona Strat in the Inca silver, quilted maple pickguard, Kinman pickups. You have other strats now? You're in Boston too. We should get together and compare.

hey Superfly, I had an 87 Strat plus, but I just sold it to finance my 89 soloist. so right now I am stratless.
where are you in Beantown? I'm in Dedham, there are a few of us around town here on the board, and we do get together and jam out, or chow out, whatever the case may be.
