  • Need advice on shipping to the UK

Has anyone shipped a guitar from the usa to the uk?
If so, what company did you use (fedex, ups, dhl, etc.)?
Also, how much does it cost ball park?
I used the fedex and ups shipping calculator and they both came up with $500 plus dollars for shipping. Is that a normal price?
    Thanks!!!

*Admins, Please move if it is in the wrong forum...thanks!!!*

Being on this grey little island, I've had stuff shipped here quiet alot: the price seems to run $120 - 180 for a soloist sized guitar, depending on the company....I think most of mine have been USPS but i can't really remember.

Whoever you're shipping to will have to pay 15.5% VAT and 5% of the new total in duty though....

Crap - that post was typo hell!
Please read 'quite' for 'quiet' and '17.5%' for '15.5% - cheers!

I've used USPS with insurance. IIRC the other commercial shippers charged an arm/leg.
