I will agree that HZ's seem to sound a hell of alot better in jackson guitars. I took them out of my MH-301 and installed the bridge p/u in my DK2 and they sounded totally different. I personally believe that the pickup/guitar combo has alot more bearing on the sound than just p/u's alone. I replaced the p/u in the MH-301 with a Duncan JB in the bridge and a 59/neck and it was a major improvement over the HZ's. It really makes a difference what guitar they are in.....IMO.
I also own a PODpro rackmount unit and it doesn't make all my guitars sound the same at all.
On the Agathis, I have found that my M-200 is very resonant and sounds pretty damn good despite the HZ's. I guess I got a good one too... Sounds a little thin but, that isn't necessarily a bad thing just different in comparison to some of my other guitars. I am very pleased with this guitar....I haven't even changed the p/u's yet.
