Question about Gibsons Classic white???

im thinking about getting a gibson explorer. but what i was wondering is if the CLASSIC WHITE is actually white..and not just an Off Cream type color...seems like all the old ones i see on ebay look Cream color especially compared to the color of the pickgaurd. Please help me Clarify, I appreciate it

If you buy it new, it is new. Nitro will yellow as it ages, which is why a lot of older white explorers look cream/yellowish.

You have to keep it away from all UV's. Even many lamps will yellow the clear coat.

Gibson's "Classic White" is actually a creme color.
The actual WHITE white that Gibson offered was called "Alpine White" and I believe they don't use that color anymore (well on Explorers anyway)

Vintage white is my favorite. My LPC, Flying V, and Explorer are all that color. Here is the Explorer. The color is more of an off white made to look aged.



I like the black pickguard better. The white one is in the case compartment.

man thats weird..Gibson has a color called cream...why the hell dont they just call it CREAM!..errrr.that gets my PANIES IN A WOD!! damn damn damn.. i wanted one WHITE as in the WHITE of my MONTANAN ass... ahh... i guess Cream will have to do.... Can you get a matching cream pickguard with it?

Warmoth makes pickguards-they could prolly make you one and color match it to your ass....if you want, that is!
