• Well, it's decided, I'm selling the 1958 gibson

Well, I picked this baby up for a great deal, and it really is a great guitar, but I want to get rid of it in favor of something I'll use alot more. I'm looking to get about 1500 for it, it's a 1958 Gibson es-225t, a pretty rare model, and is all original parts.

I'm planning on replacing it with either a carvin 7 string, or a rr1/kv2(used, and damn jackson for not making 7 strings ) Anyways, what do you guys think?

I think pictures would be nice along with a detailed description of the condition. How's that for a start?

well, the pictures im working on, but my pops decided to give away our digital camera to my sister up in alaska. Anyways, for how old it is, it's in excellent condition. There are a few dings here and there, nothing major though.

Just so you guys know, I am planning on putting it on ebay once I get some pics of it(borrowing a digital camera), but if anyone here were interested just PM me.

PS. the only one I saw for sale was online for 1650, just as a reference.

        *Anyways, what do you think?*

I think the Gibson forum is going to dedicate a flame thread to you for selling a stock '58 ES-225T to buy a Carvin.

I would personally hold on to it as an investment. But, if you need to sell it so you can afford a guitar you will actually play, then you should indeed sell it.

only thing is, I'm not really going to play it, and right now, considering how few guitars I have, I'd like to get all ones that are players. I'm still pretty young and can't afford too many guitars(or even the ones I have now, lol)

Well, then it probably doesn't make sense for you to hold onto it at this point in your life.

Good luck! I will be interested to hear how much you get for it. You may get more than you think.

haha, I sure hope so, any extra money after I get the other guitar is going to my dad, since he paid for the gibson as a present(knowing we were getting a great deal on it).

well it says I can post in the classifieds now, so that part has changed.

And I cant believe I didnt think about this before, but maybe I should go ask the gibson forum about it :duh:

Get a CS quote from a JCF dealer on a Jackson 7-string. I dunno how much it would be (probably going to get a quote myself sometime after everyone gets back from NAMM), but if it's something you can reasonably afford then go for it. Otherwise I'd go for Carvin, I haven't heard anything but great comments about their 7-strings (and you can likely get 2 of them for the price of a Jackson..)
