Inexpensive strat style guitars with great necks?

What is your opinion of the nicest feeling, playing strat style guitar out there? Is their a great one under $500 that does not feel like a baseball bat?

Charvel Model 1A - $150-$200ish (ebay) I got one of these and put Dimarzios in it and it screams. Better hardware and wood quality than a MIM strat, IMO.

Are the G&L Tributes within your budget? Those were very nice too, IIRC. Then again, I could be "sense-remembering" the USA models [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] .

When I bought my Model 1A, it was a toss up between it and a sweet MIJ Fender. I digged the Strat for the deep red finish, black pickguard and aftermarket pickups. But when it came down to it, the neck on the 1A was just so much nicer. Plus the whole guitar was in better condition. And about half the price to boot! [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Let me add the early 90's Fernandes Revolver. Checkout my thread on the one I got from a local pawn shop. Killer neck feels just like a J/C neck.

used USA st-3, try & find one with the ibanez bridge, those are earlier & much more consistent. the later ones i wont touch without playing first since there alot of really crappy ones.
