What is your opinion of the nicest feeling, playing strat style guitar out there? Is their a great one under $500 that does not feel like a baseball bat?

Mine has a great neck, I agree.
Are the G&L Tributes within your budget? Those were very nice too, IIRC. Then again, I could be "sense-remembering" the USA models [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] .

When I bought my Model 1A, it was a toss up between it and a sweet MIJ Fender. I digged the Strat for the deep red finish, black pickguard and aftermarket pickups. But when it came down to it, the neck on the 1A was just so much nicer. Plus the whole guitar was in better condition. And about half the price to boot! Let me add the early 90's Fernandes Revolver. Checkout my thread on the one I got from a local pawn shop. Killer neck feels just like a J/C neck.
