Re: Caparison @ NAMM

From the people I've talked to from caparison they are trying to get picked up here in the states. It's not as easy as it seems.

I totally want the Horus in the Cloud finish, but it would probably cost nearly $2500 to get one over here.

Re: Caparison @ NAMM

I wanted the Horus because of the 27 frets, but I just got a 24 fret Rhoads and I don't care to use them. I use them if I have them to extend a little solo piece, but I can live without them, so 27 frets wouldn't make all that much of a difference to me.

Re: Caparison @ NAMM

I think it just depends on what you're used to. My first guitar has 24 frets, and I'm used to that so I have a hard time playing something with 22 or 21. Plus on a Rhoads I've found the upper frets are a pain to reach, that may be limiting you a bit.

yeah I love the way the Dellinger Natural and the Horus look, I'd LOVE to get my hands on a Horus

how is Ishibashi with dealing with N.A customers? I mean how does the "language barrier" thing come into play? I'd love to score something from them, but I'm assuming I'll pay through the nose for it!

I emailed Ishibashi about getting a Caparison Horus in Snow Cloud yesterday and here is part of the reply (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this or not, if it gets edited by an admin feel free to pm me for info):

Yes but it usually takes about 1 or 2 months waiting for this model
at this moment...  If you woudl like to order, here is my offer for
you to order the guitar through us.
Hope you would like it

Caparison
HORUS  Snow Cloud w/original HARD case---136000 Yen
Shipping/Insurance fee---16000 Yen
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The TOTAL---152000 Yen

That's just under $1500 I believe. I'm seriously considering this but I just don't know if I'll like it as much as a USA soloist which would be the same price.

Click on the "Dealers" section and contact a JCF dealer. Also I'm looking at mostly solid colors or simple trans finishes, no graphics.

Well anything caparison is fairly rare here, so its gonna cost ya....the crappy thing is you cant try before you buy so there is gonna be a risk....

This was my first deal with Ishibashi and it couldnt have gone better...although they dont speak perfect english, I understood everything they told me and there was a lot of communication from them...I would do business with them again....

Anyone who'll be in the Chicagoland area is welcome to try a TAT...it's a neckthrough, so the neck shape may be a little different, but you can still checkout the quality and playability.

I really wish they made a 7 string Horus. Oh well.

From what I heard the dude from Nocturnal Rites has a signature 7 string Horus, but dunno if it's a production thing or just a custom shop thing. Caparison dosen't update their site very often, so I can't tell ya for sure. Check out the Nocturnal Rites website (I think www.nocturnalrites.com/net?) and it should be under a news archieve of some sort.

Nils Norberg's tremendous 7-string signature model "Majshumlan" from Caparsion Guitars is here, complete with his specially built in pitch buttons and what not. This guitar is evil, and by the way the first ever made 7-string by Caparsion. Check it out here.

And for our englishspeaking friends; "Majshumlan" actually translates into "the corn bumblebee"
