I have been looking into buying one since before christmas, and they generally sold for 250-375 max. Now I see ones selling for 400-600, this is kinda poopy for me, seeing as how I might as well buy something else. My requests are that it be bridge humbucker NICE floyd rose, 7 string of course. And I dont really care if the neck is a hum or a single. Any ideas? Got a ibanez you wanna sell cheap? Lemme know, thanks!

Re: Whats with the price increase on Ibanez RG 7 strin
I've been looking at 7-strings a lot recently. The best value will be to get a used RG7620. The 7420 is OK but not as good. The 7621 and 7421 don't have trems. There really isn't anything decent to be had cheaper than that. The only possible exception would be if you found a used Squier Stagemaster 7-string. I have not played one myself, but have heard that they are actually decent guitars.

They've also gone up in price because Ibanez now supplies a hard case with most of their guitars

+1 Correct.
The new 2005 List Prices all now include hardshell cases. So if you buy one at GC (which is known for charing extra for the case) tell them it came in here with one at that price, and that's the way it's leaving.

Going back to this thoght... Ibanez only has 2 7 strings in their line since 04 thqt being the Korn model and the Universe right? So I don't know how list pricing changes anything on this...I keep the bible in a pool of blood
So that none of its lies can affect me

Re: Whats with the price increase on Ibanez RG 7 s
I've got a 7 string, I've been in the process of converting the hardware to gold. It's not exactly a good way to show my work, because I believe I only paid like 350-400 bucks for it, babied it for a year, and got tired of it. I started bashing it around. Instead of fitting the ferrules in correctly, I just smashed them in.
When I go to show my clean, really nice work that I do on a guitar, the Ibanez stays in the case.
As far as quality, the Ibanez 7 strings are the way to go. I don't know what RG mine is, 7 strings, 2 hums, 5 way selector (my only gripe, then again, I think every guitar should have 2 hums, 3 way selector, no coil tap bullshit). Sounds nice, holds tune nice, wide thin neck, definately buy a used one, but be careful of a broken/cracked neck. I've seen quite a few of them passed off as fine.

wayn, I'd be interested in seeing that white one, I've never seen a white one, and the one Ibanez I think looks hot, is that one White RG with the pearloid pickguard, black hardware. I don't know what it is.
Speaking of Ibanez, I've been looking for an RG270DX in GREEN, my buddy that died sold his before his overdose, and I've been looking all over for it.

Re: Whats with the price increase on Ibanez RG 7 s
They also still make the RG7321 fixed bridge guitar, I believe. But that's a Korean guitar, and probably the $250-375 one that you were thinking of. I don't believe the 7620 or the current 1527 (which is essentially the same, but with an Edge Pro bridge) ever sold for that low a price. The 1527 seems to run you about $500-600 new.
Personally, I would go for a used 7620 (which was last made in 2000)--it had the LoPro Edge trem, which is really good. I had a 7620 until recently, and I thought it was a very nice guitar. You can get one on eBay for about $400. Any Ibanez 7 cheaper than that is probably Korean-made.
