    any opinions on the LTD Viper 400 and the EC 400

    these look decent for the $559 the go for?
    If it's not a CHARVEL then i dont want to play it,look at it or even fuckin THINK about it!

    I've heard good things about the 400 series LTD's, most "bang for your buck", I'd have to say I agree.

    Neck-thru, EMG's, Grover Tuners, Compensated nuts, Mahogany bodies, me likey [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

      I'd look for one used that was recently bought and someone needs to unload...that would be a better bang for the buck IMO. I think LTD's have pretty good workmanship standards for Kor guitars. Doesn't take much tweaking to dial them in.

        I have never seen them in person, but for around the same price you could check out the Schecter diamond series-also big bang for the buck-neck thrus, duncans, tone pros bridges, etc.

          I think theyre good, not many people like the scheter shapes.

          The EC and vipers, are gibson esque, i'd get one if i were into the more traditional style fuitars.

            I don't know about those, but I've got an EC-300P (stacked P-90 pickups) and I think it's fantastic in build quality, playability and sound.
            I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

              yeah I prefer the LTD 400 series over the Schecter Diamonds.. they just look and feel a bit better to me.. they both sound good, but different..

                  The Schecter Diamond Series are made in the same factory as the Korean ESP LTDs. I haven't played a whole ton of the LTDs but almost every hardcore and metalcore band out there right now is using them (The Viper 400 and the Eclipse 400 especially) and all of the ones I've talked to haven't had any problems with theirs.
