In the newbie's defense, Monte's classified ad stated something to the effect of "guitar or two for sale". He didn't specifially identify it as a GMW in the title. (...right, Chuck? [img]/images/graemlins/poke.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ) So - if he was only looking for GMWs - he may not have even paid attention to the original ad here.

Correct. Most people I email or PM that have something for sale in the classified section don't check those two options nearly as often as they respond to the posts on the board. By the time I get a reply from them, the item usually is sold. I must confess that I missed this one on the classified board, but many others that I have tracked have sold so quickly. I am really fortunate to get this one. Score one for the dorky white guy!

Here is something I don't understand. Why can't I post on the classified section? I do understand about earning the right to START a topic (sell something), but why not being able to post to RESPOND to a topic (ask a question or buy something). These are two different options for the board. I emailed the forum about the option to do this, but haven't received an answer yet.

It's a case of where the "Can't post in the classifieds until you have 100 posts" rule affected an honest member. I'm not going to start the debate, but it just sucks that once again, a few a-hole spammers have made things more difficult for others. I do understand the rules and why the admins put them there, I just don't like the fact that things had to get to that point. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img].

Definitely. I didn't post this to slam this board in any way. I understand why the rules exist. I have learned more here about GMWs than anywhere else, and get to see great pics of other members' gear. I'm just flat out happy that I finally got one!

Um, I don't know about that. I see a lot of transactions go down in the classifieds. Granted, there was a big lull right after Christmas and it only now seems to be picking back up.

I think that the problem with the classifieds is that most items offered are either:

a) crap
or
b) way overpriced.

Anything posted which is actually cool and priced right usually sells pretty quick quick.

Very nice guitar , I was interested as well . Monte actually brought me a bit of luck ( as soon as I emailed him about the GMW my Bullseye's tracking started to work )as my Bullseye arrives tomorrow after a 2 month wait for USPS to deliver .

I asked Lee about this guitar in an email, and he remembers it. (He is refinishing a Kramer Baretta for me, so I get regular updates.) He is happy to see that his guitars are holding their value. Added bonus - the neck is 1 3/4 at the nut. My favorite. This guitar is scheduled to arrive at the beginning of a 3-day off work stretch for me -- guess what I'll be doing?
