i know the ec-1000 is alot smaller ive seen them. but Im wondering about these Eclipse II guitars...you guys follow? Check out drumcityguitarland and youll see what i mean...they look like les pauls.... i read on a review that the Eclipse II are made in japan but set up in the Esp custom shop...that sounds good to me... Remember Eclipse II NOT Ec-1000

[/ QUOTE ]

Am I missing something? Isn't the ESP custom in Japan also? Are they seperate facilities?

[/ QUOTE ]
They have a separate custom shop in California. At one time they had a shop on 48th Street in New York, but I believe that's gone.

Thanks for the info Toe!

No problem. I've got a '95 catalog around somewhere and it's got a custom form in it with a California address. I also remember reading in an old Guitar Shop magazine about Metallica going to that shop and sitting down with a couple of the guys and going over some of their customs.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

A few people know that I was in the market for an ESP Eclipse (thanks to WarriorX7 again ) but then I took a shot on the ESP Edwards brand... review will be coming in a few days... I am rather excited and MANY details to follow...

Anxious already? It's been less than 12 hours since I posted about Shawn! Give it time, friend! Also, be patient... I'm sure he's got his own agenda to attend to and he only was doing it as a favor to those who read my earlier large ESP Eclipse topic a couple of months ago.

If you need an immediate fix, Econ has a near-mint Eclipse I CTM (my dream Eclipse) for sale in the Classifieds section, but remember, you're a junior member so I am not sure what the rules are for juniors posting in that section. I posted some replies in his topic too. Go look for it.

By the way, if any of you do end up getting an Eclipse II courtesy of Shawn, let me know about it since I really was interested in getting one through his method but ended up buying something else tonight (the Edwards). I am very, VERY excited to get this guitar... Here's a teaser pic...

Chances are i wont be able to get mine till middle of march. but when i do i will let you know. main reason i wanna know how much there gonna cost is cause i need to know how much Moola to start saving!! Re: Eclipse II bodies vs. les paul body

Ahh yes, you want the new ESP Eclipse II Standard VTB (vintage black)... VERY highly in-demand right now and backordered with many of the fantastic ESP dealers on the ESP forum. Two great ESP dealers are Carlino Guitars and DrumCityGuitarLand:

http://www.carlinoguitars.com/
http://drumcityguitarland.com/

Fair prices, EXCELLENT service, no bullcrap! Simply e-mail them for their prices but expect a late delivery date.

Back to the VTB... I loved everything about it, but the one thing I would change would be a move to gloss black. Then I discovered the Eclipse I CTM which is basically identical to the Eclipse II VTB except it's gloss black and not marketed to North America! I probably would have jumped on Econ's CTM had I not hesitated!

Yeah, my Edwards was JUST put up on Ebay earlier today and I immediately jumped on it... absolutely could not resist... Edwards guitars are also very highly regarded by ESP fans and "Les Paul Lawsuit" fans, so I thought I'd give it a try! And, I was able to overlook the soft matte/satin black...

Yeah, I JUST realized you've been on the forum for quite a while now, only AFTER I made my post... how observant of me... Sorry 'bout that. Best of luck with your Eclipse quest... heard nothing but KILLER things about them. I praise them and yet I still haven't played an ESP Eclipse, only the LTD ones!

Re: Eclipse II bodies vs. les paul body

Those LTD EC-1000s are also very good guitars. I love playing the black one in my local store... HUGE frets and super-easy playability, one of the best necks I have ever tried! Real abalone inlay everywhere on the guitar! For some reason, the ESP Eclipse Standards don't come with some of the hardware that the LTD EC-1000 has, like TonePros bridge and Earvana compensated nut. Oh well, no biggie.

Oops, I could have sworn I linked the actual topic rather than just the general Classified section. Damn, I'm stupid.

Hey, if you buy Econ's guitar, you could brag that you own one of the only Eclipse I CTMs in North America, and use that as trade bait for an Eclipse II VTB plus cash or something, and make a little profit from those wanting the "rare" CTM! Exactly what you're looking for on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...31590&rd=1

Seller is a known ESP Guitars Forum member. Good BIN price too.
