    Re: Fender Stratocaster question.

Raise the singles, lower the humbucker. Be careful raising the singles too much though, they can pull strings out of tune and cause weirdness. I'd lower the Humbucker first and see if you can level it out that way.

The vintage noisless in the strat deluxe I got from JG are really quiet, and they sound good, however, I can't get a good metal tone from them. Then I put a duncan distortion in the bridge, it's so damn hot, that the volume drop is drastic when playing in the neck position.

I guess I'm in the minority, but there are very few guitars with stock pickups that I really like. I'd rather have a nice set of duncans or even dimarzio singles than ANY fender pickups, but maybe that's just me.

I think this is all in relativity to Fender pickups and guitars. I think most of us can testify to using other pickups. I'm not much of a Fender person myself either. I'd like to have one strat in the lineup for some clean sounds, but it definetely would not be a main guitar.

Once you find the right Strat for you, its hard to go back to anything else. A Strat that is "the one" is like an old friend that never lets you down...
